Trump Cuts Short G7 Visit, Urges Iranians to Evacuate Tehran Immediately

In a dramatic turn of events at the G7 summit in Canada, former U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly cut short his visit on Tuesday, citing escalating tensions in the Middle East. Trump issued an urgent public appeal to Iranian citizens to evacuate Tehran “as soon as possible,” warning of a potential large-scale military response in the region.

Trump, who attended the summit as a special guest amid speculation about his re-election campaign, left the event after an emergency security briefing with American intelligence officials. In a press conference held at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport before his departure, Trump declared:

“Tehran is no longer safe. I urge all Iranians — especially civilians — to leave the capital immediately. We are prepared to do what’s necessary to protect global peace.”

The statement comes in the wake of unconfirmed reports that Israeli intelligence detected preparations for a retaliatory strike by Iran following recent Israeli drone operations in Damascus and Isfahan. Sources suggest the U.S. has been closely coordinating with Israeli and NATO intelligence on the developing situation.

U.S. Forces on High Alert

Pentagon officials have neither confirmed nor denied whether U.S. military assets are being deployed in or around the Persian Gulf. However, satellite imagery has shown heightened activity at American bases in Qatar and Bahrain.

White House spokesperson Emily Rodriguez stated,

“While Mr. Trump is not the sitting President, his visit was part of high-level bipartisan coordination on international diplomacy. His remarks reflect real-time security evaluations.”

International Reaction

Trump’s warning has rattled both diplomatic and economic circles. Oil prices surged 6% in the early hours of Tuesday as markets responded to fears of a full-scale conflict in the Gulf. The Iranian rial plummeted amid panic buying and power outages reported across northern Tehran.

European G7 leaders, including Canadian Prime Minister Danielle Cormier and French President Emmanuel Dupont, expressed concern over Trump’s unilateral announcement.

“This is a time for de-escalation, not incitement,” said Dupont.

Meanwhile, Iran’s foreign ministry dismissed Trump’s call as “psychological warfare,” calling it a desperate attempt to instill fear and destabilize the region.

Tehran Responds

In response to Trump’s statement, Iranian state television aired footage of calm city streets and vowed resilience against any “foreign provocation.” The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a warning of its own, declaring it would retaliate “without hesitation” to any violation of Iran’s airspace or sovereignty.

The situation remains volatile, with U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres urging all parties to “avoid rash actions and prioritize diplomacy.”

As of now, no official evacuation orders have been issued by Iran or foreign embassies, though the U.S. State Department has raised its travel advisory to “Level 4 – Do Not Travel” for all of Iran.

This developing story continues to dominate the summit, overshadowing the G7’s planned agenda on climate change and AI regulation.
