Producer Boney Kapoor has opened up about his much-talked-about comedy sequel No Entry 2, revealing his regret over not being able to retain the original cast of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan. The first installment, No Entry (2005), became one of Bollywood’s most successful comedies, largely due to the chemistry between its leading trio and Anees Bazmee’s direction.

In a recent interaction, Kapoor admitted that while the sequel is shaping up with fresh faces, the absence of the original stars is a creative compromise he wishes he could have avoided. “I would have loved to bring back Salman, Anil, and Fardeen. They gave life to No Entry and their comic timing made it unforgettable. Unfortunately, things didn’t align, and I regret not being able to retain them for the sequel,” he said.
The producer also acknowledged that audience expectations are high because of the cult status the film enjoys even after nearly two decades. “People still remember the characters of Prem, Kishan, and Sunny. It’s difficult to recreate that magic, but we are trying to present No Entry 2 with new energy and a younger cast,” he added.
While the sequel has created buzz for introducing a fresh lineup of actors, fans have expressed disappointment over Salman Khan’s absence in particular, given his character Prem remains iconic. Kapoor, however, assured that the sequel will stay true to the spirit of the original with its humor, chaos, and larger-than-life situations.
Directed once again by Anees Bazmee, No Entry 2 is expected to go on floors soon. Whether the new cast can live up to the legacy of the original remains to be seen, but Kapoor’s candid admission about missing Salman, Anil, and Fardeen reflects the immense impact the first film still holds in Bollywood comedy.
